Very poor - not 2 star, nearly 1!

Poor

Hotel needs renovation

It was not what I expected. The pictures show a lodge with a lot of surrounding greenery. However, I could not see out of any of the windows. To the right to the entrance to my door there was a lot of rubbish that had been thrown down the embankment. I was hoping for a swimming pool but was informed that it was only 4 ft deep. The hotel is not ideally positioned next to a railway line and busy road with lorries and buses. The reception area was not ideal, and when I arrived staff were eating their lunch there. I was given a bunch of 6 keys for my room but only one worked. At 7:00 in the morning a member of staff knocked on my door for no apparent reason (and it was Sunday!). At 7:30 am there was another knock on the door and 2 staff brought a tray of food into my room. This comprised a plate of cheese sandwhiches, coffee, 2 oranges and warm rice and chicken (?) under a plastic covering. I would have preferred to have had a buffet breakfast in the buffet rather than eating in a room on my own without any view outside. When booking on Agoda, you have to pay $12 for a taxi to the airport. However, I didn't need to go to the airport! However, the driver who was very kind and polite took me to another hotel in Yangon. I paid $75 for the room which was totally over priced for the service and quality of room that was offered. Furthermore, in the room, there was a sticker on the wall saying that the price of the room was $25. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in and the worst that I have booked with Agoda.
